Welcome to the fruit bat world

When you go to the islands of Okinawa,Kagoshima or Ogasawara (southern or western islands of Japan)you can see very big bats flying in the night sky. They are fruit bats.Their head-body length is about 20cm and wingspan is almost 90cm. Their body is plump and furry. The name of "fruit bat" means that they mainly live on fruit. They are also called " flying foxes " because their faces are fox-like .

Let's go to the world of fruit bats and you will find them as cute as Teddey Bears.
