Dumplings

eDangof is another traditional Japanese confection. Dango is a small dumpling made from rice flour coated with soy sauce paste, sweet red bean paste, or sweet sesame paste. They are generally served on bamboo skewers. Besides being eaten as a kind of snack, rice dumplings are an important item of offerings when Buddhist services are performed or when people pay homage to their ancestors' tombs.
