自動詞は目的語を必要としない。ということは、後ろに名詞を伴うときは、 前置詞が必要ということだ。 他動詞は必ず、目的語が必要。目的語の前には前置詞はいらない。 辞書にも、必ず、自動詞・他動詞の区別がつくように表記してあります。 動詞を覚えるときは、よく区別しながら覚えましょう。

lie - lay - lain 自動詞 「横たわる」

5. My brother (was married to) a French girl. 他動詞 の受動態
6. He (approached) the station. 他動詞「〜に近づく」
7. He (attended) the meeting.
attened on 自動詞 〜に仕える、〜の看護をする
attened to 自動詞 〜の言うことを注意して聞く
attened 他動詞 〜に出席する、〜の世話をする
8. My brother expects to (graduate from)college next year.
自動詞 「〜を卒業する」
9. The story was so funny that everybody (laughed).
that は関係代名詞ではないし、空所の後にはピリオド。自動詞が入るはず。
10.Consult (your dictionary) before you consult with me.
他動詞なので前置詞不要 consult with 「〜と相談する」
